Our life together
We live in a great family neighborhood close to New York City. There is a park close by where all the kids play baseball or soccer, swim, and ride their Big wheels and scooters. It's incredibly diverse with people from many different countries. Walking around is like being on Disney's "It's a Small World" ride in real life!
Visitors to our home comment on how cozy and personal it is. Both of us a very sentimental, much of the furniture and paintings come from our childhood home or that of our grandparents. Pictures of friends and family are in every room. Mary's mother and grandmother are artist's and their paintings can be found throughout the house. We love to spend time at home being together.
Mary's parents, brothers and their families live in the area. We get together for dinner, birthdays, holidays and important family events. Chris's sister is nearby and we get to visit with his Dad in Florida. Really nice during a cold winter! We like to go on a mini-adventures on the week-ends, finding a new museum, park, neighborhood or searching for the best pizza in the area. Our dog Lucy is a big part of our life. Chris devised all sorts of new games to keep her busy and Mary loves to take her for long walks through the neighborhood or out to the woods. We go to the movies, baseball games, hiking and the zoo. We can not wait to share all these places with a child.
Especially important to us is the ability to parent as partners. Our plan is to organize our schedules so that one of us will be available to care for a child. Your baby will not be raised by a Nanny, with two parents working and rarely at home. We share everything together and that includes the time and effort of being a parent.
